My name is Scott Fleig and I am a Seattle
area-based photographer. Photography is my creative outlet and my
passion. I began this endeavor many years ago with a simple 35mm film
camera and my own darkroom in the basement on Echo Lane. I took a few
classes in high school and in college, but found the academic route a bit boring. Maybe I was/am a bit ADHD to have followed the rules.
I
enjoy shooting everyday things in slightly different ways. I enjoy
creating a mood or emotion in my images. Sometimes it's a sad, or melancholy
feel. Sometimes it's just different. I like unusual angles and
perspective. Somewhere in late 2004 I decided to shoot with models. I didn't have a firm direction
at first and was totally new to the idea of lighting. I experimented
and found some wonderful models who agreed to collaborate with me on
some projects. I found that I like shooting with people to convey a
message through photos. I don't typically shoot fashion or glamour.
I do enjoy finding out what emotions a model can bring to an image and
capture that. My main styles with people are casual, emotive and
artistic nudes. I hope that as you browse the galleries you see things
that make you just pause a moment and think.
I don't expect
become famous or wealthy from this, however, my services are for hire.
My commercial interests lie in CD (album) cover art, promotional work
and anything else that lends itself to my style. I will shoot model
portfolios (contact me for my rates). I also shoot weddings on rare
occasions. I will do commission work as well. I can shoot on location
or in my studio.
My main goal is to get my artwork seen. I have been in a juried show and multi-genre shows presented by Artifakt
in Seattle. My work has hung in Art Not Terminal Gallery in Seatle. I hope to do more shows throughout the year and
beyond.
